Bonnyville RCMP Seek Assistance Identifying Suspicious Person

Bonnyville RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspicious person. On Thursday, April 11th, 2019, the Bonnyville RCMP were notified of a concerning a Facebook post that had been shared on the Bonnyville Rant and Rave Facebook page regarding a suspicious male person attempting to speak with two young children on April 10th, 2019.
The suspicious person was described as an older Caucasian male, medium build, in his early 60s, wearing a hat and black jacket. The suspicious person was reported to be driving an older model two door red car, possibly a Ford.
This male apparently was attempting to speak with two young girls, who were walking home, around noon on April 10th, 2019.
Bonnyville RCMP had not been notified about this incident prior to April 11th, 2019.  It is important for the community to note that these incidents must be reported to police at the time of the incident to ensure the safety of our community and allow for a thorough investigation to be completed.
“We want to make it very clear that we don’t monitor these types of Facebook pages or internet usage and if there is something of this nature, you need ot report it to the police immediately. We can’t do a thorough investigation or followup and ensure the safety of the community if we’re learning these things through concerned citizens on Facebook,” said Sgt. Kim Hillier.
