Cold Lake RCMP Police Dog Services locate a hidden suspect
Cold Lake RCMP charged a Cold Lake man after responding to an assault earlier this week, the mounties said.
On March 18 at 1:47 a.m., Cold Lake RCMP responded to an assault in progress on 16th Avenue in Cold Lake.
The suspect fled on foot and required the assistance of the RCMP Police Dog Services (PDS) to aid in apprehension.
Upon arrival of the PDS they were able to locate one 33-year-old male, Joshua Charland, of Cold Lake underneath a residence on 16th Avenue.
PDS Harp and his handler were able to remove Charland from beneath the home and place him under arrest.
Charland was taken to the local hospital for minor injuries sustained while resisting arrest.
Charland was released on a recognizance to appear in Cold Lake Provincial Court on March 27 to speak to three criminal code charges which include assault, mischief equal to or under $5000.00, and failure to comply with a probation order.
The RCMP said that they are other suspects, and no one else was injured or in danger as a result of the incident.
