Five people have been arrested after a tip of a stolen vehicle traveling in the Lakeland area came into police.

On February 25th, 2019, in early morning hours the Elk Point, Bonnyville and Cold Lake RCMP Detachments were alerted by the public of a stolen vehicle traveling toward Cold Lake. Police were able to locate the vehicle but it failed to stop and fled from police.

During an attempt to deploy a Tire Deflation Device (Spike Belt), the driver drove toward an officer causing him to jump over a snowbank to avoid being struck by the suspect vehicle. The vehicle eventually came to a stop in the village of Ardmore. The occupants of the stolen vehicle attempted to flee to a waiting “get away” vehicle. Police were able to intercept both vehicles and arrest all occupants.
