RCMP apprehend wanted man in Kikino
On Jan. 31, the Lac La Biche RCMP and Eastern Alberta District Rural Crime Reduction Unit (EADRCRU) conducted a joint operation to apprehend a male who’d been on the run from police for nearly two years.
RCMP members identified where the male would be hiding and surrounded a residence in Kikino.
RCMP members entered the residence after obtaining a warrant and located the male who was hiding in a crawl space underneath the house. He was arrested without incident.
Joey Whitford (31) of Kikino is facing charges for multiple offences, including:
- Forcible confinement (X4)
 - Assault (X6)
 - Failing to comply with a probation order
 - Uttering threats (X5)
 - Mischief
 - Theft under $5,000
 
He was held following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear in court in Lac La Biche on Feb. 11, 2019.
