Bonnyville RCMP GIS Unit seizes large quantity of drugs; Ardmore pair arrested
Two Ardmore residents have been arrested after RCMP executed a search on their residence discovering over 390 grams of methamphetamine.
On January 19, 2019, the Bonnyville RCMP GIS Unit, with assistance from the Cold Lake RCMP, executed a search warrant in the village of Ardmore in relation to an ongoing drug trafficking investigation. A male and female were arrested upon execution of the search warrant.
The male resisted arrest and is alleged to have assaulted an RCMP member during the arrest. The search of a residence in Ardmore and an associated vehicle yielded approximately 393 grams of methamphetamine, over $2000.00 in Canadian currency, drug paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking and a taser. The value of drugs seized during this investigation, had they reached the street, would be anywhere from $30,000 – $40,000.00

Jason Robert Gauthier (40) of Ardmore, Alberta has been charged with six offences including;
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled substance;
- Possession of proceeds of crime;
- Obstructing a Police Officer;
- Assaulting a Police Officer;
- Possession of a Prohibited Weapon;
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
A 40 year old Female of Ardmore, Alberta has been charged with two offences including;
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled substance;
- Possession of proceeds of crime.
Gauthier has been released on a $2000.00 Cash bail Recognizance with conditions to Appear in Bonnyville Provincial Court on February 5, 2019.
The charges against the female have not yet been sworn, she was released on a no cash Recognizance with conditions to appear in Bonnyville Provincial Court of February 19, 2019.
