In the off season
The St. Paul Golf Course will soon be in possession of new Yamaha golf carts. Council decided to take 15 carts (2014 model) from a lease that ended in October 2018 and add them to the Town fleet. Those carts will be replaced by 25 brand-new, 2019 model carts. The Town will also be trading in an unspecified number of older carts as part of the 2019 lease. The leasing plan will go through Oakcreek Golf & Turf in Edmonton.
According to Council, the 2019 carts perform better in almost every capacity than the 2014 carts. They “have a stronger, fully independent suspension, are the most fuel efficient, and have a number of other advantages such as better service.” The deal will also include the leasing of a refurbished beverage cart.
Corporate memberships will also continue to be offered at the St. Paul Golf Course. CAO Kim Heyman noted that most golf courses in Bonnyville and Lac La Biche do not offer corporate memberships, and this gives the St. Paul Golf Course unprecedented opportunity to do so.
However, as in the past, corporate memberships are subject to special regulations, which include the following:
• Corporate memberships include full membership to 3 designated employees plus 3 free guests;
• One of the four golfers must be the corporate member holder;
• Only one foursome is permitted to golf per day;
• Corporate memberships may only be used before 3 p.m. on weekdays and must be booked at least 24 hours in advance.
The Town is also offering an Early Bird Rate for corporate memberships. The cost will be $2,100 if paid by March 31, 2019. Following that date, the price will increase to $2,310 per membership.
