Cold Lake RCMP arrest man for three armed robberies
Cold Lake RCMP have apprehended the suspect who committed three armed robberies last Saturday.
“We appreciate all the public tips we received on this investigation,” says Cpl. Marie-Eve Mackenzie-Plante, Cold Lake General Investigative Section.
“The tips we received from the photos we provided were crucial in quickly arresting and bringing the suspect before the courts.”
Pablo Marroquin Morales (20) was arrested by Cold Lake RCMP members with the assistance of Cold Lake Police Dog Services and the General Investigative Section without incident.
The robberies included the Esso North, the Esso South and at the Red Rooster.
On Monday, after receiving multiple tips and information from the public, Cold Lake RCMP arrested Morales who was alleged to be involved in three separate robberies as previously reported.
Cold Lake RCMP then executed a search warrant at a residence in Cold Lake on Tuesday where additional items used in the offences were seized.
Morales has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Assault with a weapon
- Robbery with a firearm (x3)
- Disguise with intent (x3)
- Using a firearm in the commission of an offence (x3)
He was remanded into custody and will be appearing in Cold Lake Provincial Court on Jan. 23, 2019.
