A residence in Bonnyville on 50th street had an unwelcome visitor on Christmas Day, which lead to an arrest of break and enter.

The homeowner arrived at their residence on the evening of Dec. 25 to find their front door open and the suspect in their house.

After a confrontation, the RCMP were called to the scene. The suspect fled but was soon arrested.

A 46 year old male has been charged with one count of break and enter and he was released on recognizance and an untertaking.

The RCMP said they are unsure whether the charges are sworn, so his name could not be released.
