Two charged with copper wire theft

After appearing in court, the charges against the adult female were dropped..
BACKGROUND
Two people have been charged following a string of copper wire thefts in the Elk Point area. RCMP have also seized a number of stolen goods and drugs following the arrests.
The Elk Point RCMP were investigating several thefts of copper wire from oilfield sites in the area and a search warrant was executed at a residence in Elk Point and another warrant was executed on a motor vehicle located at that residence.
RCMP have seized approximately 40 feet of copper wire, along with copper wire spools and a receipt obtained from the sale of the copper. There were bolt cutters, wire strippers and masks found at the residence, as well.
RCMP also found 7.9 grams of methamphetamine, scales, baggies and other drug paraphernalia.
Arrested was Dallan Moser and an adult female of Elk Point. Both individuals were charged with possession of property obtained by crime and trafficking; both property obtained by crime and a controlled substance.
Both individuals were released and are due to appear at the St Paul Provincial Court on December 20th, 2018.
