Lindbergh salt plant says layoffs of 19 employees are temporary
Earlier this week, 19 employees were laid off from the Lindbergh salt plant.
This is the statement from a spokesperson from Windsor Salt.
“At Windsor Salt, nothing is more important than the safety of our employees. That’s why we immediately halted production at our Lindbergh site earlier this month due to structural damage that occurred in our main production area.
Since that time, our team has worked quickly to assess the damage, and repairs are already underway to bring the site back to full operational capacity as soon as possible. In order to do this in a safe and timely manner, it was necessary to temporarily layoff 19 production employees while the repairs are being made. Our Lindbergh site currently has 55 full-time employees.
Windsor Salt is currently committed to continuing production at its Lindbergh site, where we have operated for more than 65 years.”
