Town will now accept credit card and e-transfer payments

You will now be able to pay bills to the Town of Bonnyville with a credit card or through e-Transfer.

The town is synced up with the mobile app PayTM, which doesn’t charge residents a transaction fee when paying by credit, debit, or cash.

“I guess it’s just a matter of how comfortable you are putting your credit card in the electronic world,” said CAO Mark Power, during Tuesday’s town council meeting.

The application is free to use and users can earn cashback rewards as well.

Flyers will be put in residents utility bills in December to let them know about this new option.

Also, the option is available to e-transfer payments to the town through their finance email address.

“Welcome to the twenty-first century,” said Mayor Gene Sobolewski at council.
