Five Lakeland area volleyball teams begin competing at Provincials today

Alberta Schools Athletic Association (ASAA) volleyball provincials have begun across the province and five Lakeland area teams are competing for the chance to take home a Provincial gold medal.

Ecole de Beaux Lacs girls 1A

The Ecole de Beaux Lacs girls volleyball team have won 1A zones and will travel to Bassano to play in provincials this weekend. They are representing the northeastern zone in the 10 team tournament.

Notre Dame Wildcats girls 2A

The girls Notre Dame Wildcats volleyball won 2A zones defeating Ashmont in the final. They will head to Camrose who are hosting both boys and girls provincials.

FG Miller boys 2A

FG Miller boys volleyball is also headed to 2A Provincials. They defeated J.R. Robson boys (Vermilion) and it’s been a good season for them. They will represent the northeast zone.

Cold Lake High School girls 3A

Cold Lake high school girls are 3A zone champs. The Royals defeated Westwood from Fort McMurray in two sets and will go to Beaverlodge for Provincials. The Cold Lake High School boys won bronze.

St. Paul Regional boys 3A

St. Paul boys volleyball punched their ticket to Provincials with a zone championship. They will head to Rocky Mountain House in hopes of a provincial medal.
