The holidays are approaching and that means more initiatives around town are looking to get into the giving spirit.

Bonnyville Victim Services and Bonnyville Emergency Services are organizing their Charity Checkstop for 2018.

It is happening Dec. 1 from 12-2pm.

Volunteers will be stopping vehicles on main street and encouraging people to “embrace the season of giving” by donating in a few different ways.

They are looking for new, unwrapped toys for Santa’s Elves, non-perishable food items for Bonnyville Food Bank, or cash donations for Bonnyville Victim Services.
