Cold Lake Wings About to Host American Competition
For the first time, the expansion Cold Lake Wings (Western Provinces Hockey Association) will play their WSHL counterparts.
Starting this Saturday, the Cold Lake Wings will be hosting four Northwest Division (WSHL) teams
from the United States who will be in-town to play six games from November 10th to the 17th.
On Nov. 10, the Wings (2-5-1) play the Bellingham Blazers (9-3) and Nov. 11 they battle the South Oregon Spartans (3-7) after the Remembrance Day ceremony at Imperial Oil Place.
League commissioner Ron White, will be in Cold Lake, Friday, Nov. 16th to drop the puck at the Wings vs the West Sound Admirals (3-8) showdown.
This will be the only time all season (aside from playoffs) an American team from the WSHL will be travelling
north for regular season play, and the four Canadian teams from the WPHA will not be travelling to play specific American teams this season.
The WSHL is currently celebrating it’s 25th anniversary season.
