Lac La Biche RCMP Pursuit after shots fired from Stolen Vehicle
Three people have been arrested following a report of shots fired at a vehicle travelling with a family inside.
On October 23, 2018 at approximately 4:30 a.m., Lac La Biche RCMP responded to a complaint of a family in a grey Dodge pickup being chased by a blue Dodge pickup, Northbound on Highway 36. The complainant, who was travelling back home from Edmonton with his family, including his wife and three children aged 1yr, 15yrs and 18yrs, reported shots were fired at their vehicle from the suspect vehicle.
Police responded and were able to intercept the vehicle on Highway 36 at the intersection of Highway 55. A pursuit was initiated and continued Eastbound along Elinor Lake Road then North on Range Road 132A. The suspects lost control of the vehicle, and abandoned the vehicle in a nearby field. 1 male and 1 female were arrested on scene. Two other males and female fled on foot. The female was arrested after a short foot pursuit. The males ran off into the bush and were not immediately located. The abandoned vehicle was confirmed to be stolen.
A 45 year old female suffered minor injuries and was transported to hospital. Charges against her are pending.
26 year old Caitlin Cree has been charged with the following:
- unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon;
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;
- Possession of a weapon contrary to Order;
- Operation of a motor vehicle while being pursued by police;
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000;
- Fail to Comply with Undertaking.
At the time of her arrest, she was also wanted on a warrant for Break and Enter and Obstructing a Peace Officer. A bail hearing was conducted and she has been remanded in custody, and will be appearing in Lac La Biche Provincial Court on October 29th, 2018 at 10:00 O’Clock, and in Boyle Provincial Court on October 23rd, 2018 at 10:00 O’Clock.
33 year Old, Damion Quintal has been charged with the following charges:
- Operation of a Motor Vehicle while being Pursued by Police;
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000;
- Possession of a Weapon for a dangerous purpose;
- Possession of a Weapon Contrary to Order;
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon;
- Fail to Comply with Undertaking;
- Fail to Comply with Recognizance;
- Fail to Comply with Condition of Undertaking’
A bail hearing was conducted and he has been remanded in custody, and will be appearing in Lac La Biche Provincial Court on October 29th, 2018 at 10:00 O’Clock.
On October 22, 2018, RCMP were able to identify 26 year old Juston Boucher as one of the male suspects that had fled on foot. Boucher was arrested and has been charged with the following charges:
- Operation of a motor vehicle while being pursued by Police X2;
- Operate a motor vehicle while disqualified;
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon;
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;
- Possession of weapon contrary to order X 2
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Fail to Comply with Recognizance
A bail hearing was conducted and Boucher has been remanded in custody, and will be appearing in St.Paul Provincial Court on October 25th, 2018 at 09:30 O’Clock.
Lac La Biche RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the unknown male suspect that fled into the woods.
