The Cold Lake Wings are pleased to announce the signing of the franchise’s first two players.

Goaltender Brendan Culbertson-Bond (’99) and forward Kaden Belcourt (’02) will both be on hand for the Wings when the team takes to the ice for their inaugural training camp starting Friday, Sept. 14 at the Cold Lake Energy Centre.

“We are excited to welcome Kaden and Brendan to the team and are eager to aid in the further development of these two highly skilled individuals,” says head coach and GM Johnathan Aitken.

“Kaden is a big power forward who will create chances in the offensive zone, while providing a physical presence for the team defensively.”
Brendan, meanwhile, is a goaltender with a high hockey 1.Q. who played against 20-year-old’s last season and has experience playing against teams from all over North America.”

Belcourt comes to Cold Lake having spent last season playing for the Camrose Red Wings minor midget AAA team. Over 33 games in the AMMHL, Belcourt picked up six goals and four assists for 10 points.
At 6-foot-2, 200 lbs, Belcourt isn’t afraid to use his size and will be counted on to get the puck from the more congested areas of the ice.

Also standing over six feet tall, Culbertson-Bond has outstanding size for a goalie at the Junior A level and plays big in the crease.
Hailing from Sherwood Park, AB, Culbertson-Bond spent last season in Atlanta with the Jr. Knights of the United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL) . In 11 games he recorded a .900 save percentage.

“The Cold Lake Wings would like to welcome Brendan and Kaden to the Lakeland area.”
