A 26-year-old was arrested Tuesday after RCMP were given a report about an assault in progress where a male was beating someone with a rock.

The incident happened on 47 Ave in Bonnyville, Tuesday afternoon. The police arrived to find an injured male unconscious and bleeding from to his injuries.

The perpetrator then fled the scene, but was later found in Kehewin that night and arrested.

Joshua Paul was charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest. He is still in custody.

The victim was taken to hospital before EMS transported him to Edmonton for further treatment. There is no word on his condition at this time.
