RCMP arrest two homicide suspects in Cold Lake First Nations

Two people have been charged in the homicide of 31-year-old Ellie Mae House of the Paul Band First Nation, following a stand-off on Cold Lake First Nations.

Nora Flora Papin, 31, and Neil Benjamin Morin, 33, of Paul Band First Nation have both been charged with second degree murder and were remanded into custody. They are due in Stony Plain Provincial Court on August 22, 2018.

Papin and Morin are suspected of killing a 31 year old female from Paul Band First Nation on August 14th. The Medical Examiner determined the female died following a gun shot wound.

Yesterday, after an extensive search consisting of resources from RCMP Emergency Response Team North, Eastern Alberta District Crime Reduction Team, RCMP Police Dog Services, RCMP Cold Lake Detachment, and RCMP Bonnyville Detachment, two suspects were located at a residence on the Cold Lake First Nations, and were arrested in relation to the investigation.

The suspect had fled Paul Band First Nations following the incident and were located on Cold Lake First Nations.

They were both arrested and charged with homicide.
