RCMP have arrested a wanted youth male from Elizabeth Métis Settlement. The male was wanted on outstanding warrants and cannot be named due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

On July 26, 2018, the Eastern Alberta District Rural Crime Reduction Unit (EADRCRU) members spotted a male at a residence in Elizabeth Metis Settlement who was wanted on outstanding warrants and fled on foot through the woods.  With the assistance of Cold Lake Police Dog Services (PDS) and members of the community, the male was apprehended without incident and held in custody for a short time by RCMP members.

The male is facing multiple charges, including the following:

  • Assault with a weapon,
  • Failing to comply with a youth order,
  • Failing to comply with a probation order, and
  • Failing to attend court.

The male was released on a recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court in Cold Lake on September 12, 2018.
