Bonnyville man charged after motorist assaulted

On July 10th, the Bonnyville RCMP received a call of an intoxicated male driving through Bonnyville. It is reported that the male stopped at an intersection and assaulted a motorist, in another vehicle, and attempted to take the man’s phone. The motorist was able to get away, with his phone.

When the suspect was in stealing the phone, he returned to his vehicle and began to tailgate the victim down Highway 28.

A short time later, RCMP located the suspect male at his rural residence, just outside of Bonnyville. The suspect attempted to flee the scene and in doing so, overturned his vehicle in his driveway.

Bonnyville RCMP have arrested & charged a 56 year old male with; assault, dangerous driving, uttering threats to a police officer, mischief, resisting arrest and breach of probation (x2).
