On June 13, 2018, at approximately 5:45 p.m. Cold Lake RCMP were called to an assault in progress in Cold Lake north. RCMP attended and determined that a female had been assaulted and a neighbour stabbed when trying to intervene to stop the assault.
25 year old Tigan Phillip Boostrom of Cold Lake was arrested after a 3 hour standoff with police.
During the standoff, Tigan Boostrom uttered death threats to police and to other individuals.
The neighbour who was stabbed suffered serious injuries and required emergency surgery and hospitalization.
Tigan Boostrom has been charged with the following:

Aggravated Assault.
-
Overcoming Resistance to the Commission of an Indictable Offence.
-
Assault.
-
Uttering Threats x 8.
-
Resist Arrest.
-
Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose x 4.
Tigan Boostrom has been remanded into custody with his next court appearance on July 25, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Cold Lake Provincial Court.
