Bonnyville Chamber hires new Executive Director
Serina Parson has been announced as the new Executive Director for the Bonnyville & District Chamber of Commerce. President of the Chamber, Robyn Ducharme says the board is excited to have someone with Serina’s experience and passion on the team.
“We’re happy to announce our new Executive Director, Serina Parsons, who joins us effective June 18th,” says Ducharme, “what drew us to Serina is her energy and passion”. Serina comes with a very diverse background, which includes the last 3 years with the Dr. Margaret Savage Crisis Centre in Cold Lake. While at the DMSCC she was responsible for their media, marketing, fundraising events, sponsorships and community relationships.
Born and raised in a small community in Newfoundland, Serina has always had a passion for smaller towns and the sense of belonging they create. People come together in smaller towns, they are more passionate about services offered and the organizations that make a difference.
Her first passion was for communication and journalism which introduced her to the international world and ultimately led her to a degree in International Development and Political Science after travelling through different parts of Canada and South Africa. Realizing that the overall development of our world begins at home, she continued her community development work with the Dr. Margaret Savage Crisis Centre by creating community awareness and raising valuable funds for programs and services.
Serina adds: “I am very happy to work at the Bonnyville & District Chamber of Commerce. I know this organization has done amazing work in our community and I hope to continue with its strategic direction while working to ensure I advocate for the needs of all our members.”
“Please join us in welcoming Serina to our team! We look forward to you meeting her soon!” says Ducharme.
