A Cold Lake woman has been charged with 12 offenses following a sting of purse and wallet thefts in Cold Lake. RCMP say the woman, Lisa Sanregret is known to them for these types of crimes.

On May 23rd, the RCMP received a complaint of a wallet stolen from the complainant’s business, The Finishing Touch. The caller reported that her wallet was stolen from a back staff room.

RCMP responded and reviewed surveillance footage, from the footage they determined the suspect to be Lisa Sanregret. Sanregret has had a history of theft of this nature, confirmed S/Sgt. Jeremie Landry of the Cold Lake RCMP Detachment.

Earlier in the month, on May 13th, RCMP received a complaint from a man that his wife’s purse was stolen while she was watching soccer. Her purse was left on the ground near her and someone took it.

The women’s credit cards were used at local businesses and RCMP used surveillance footage to determine that Lisa Sanregret was the suspect using the stolen credit cards.

On May 24th, RCMP were able to locate Sanregret and arrest her on four outstanding warrants out of Cold Lake. She is also wanted on warrants out of Edmonton.

Sanregret appeared before a Justice of the Peace and has been remanded into custody. Her next court appearance is June 13th, 2018. There is the possibility of additional charges as she is being investigated in several other theft cases, confirmed S/Sgt. Landry.
