Plans underway for Alysha Axani Memorial Truck & Car Show

The inaugural Alysha Axani Memorial Truck & Car Show is gearing up to be a great event this summer in Cold Lake. The show is to celebrate the life of a young women taken too soon from a motorcycle accident on July 11, 2014.

Mother of the victim, Lolonda McMillian-Axani, says the event will be to honour her daughter and the light she brought into the world, “she loved animals and would do anything she could for any animal in need, so we are raising money in her memory to help the Humane Society build the new shelter they desperately need.”

Alysha also had another passion and that was her truck. She had bought it right before her death and it was her everything.

“We thought it would be a great way to honour her, by having a truck & car show,” Lolonda says the show is for everyone, not just the classics or supped up vehicles, “anyone who wants to enter will be able to.”

There will be categories for all motor vehicles; motorcyles, stock trucks, lifted trucks, antique cars, stock cars, mopars, and more.

“Awards will be presented by people’s choice,” Lolonda says that’s exactly how her daughter would’ve wanted it.

Mid Life Crisis will be performing at the show, at the Energy Centre, near the soccer fields, on July 18th. There will also be children’s games & activities.

“We want to make it a family event, everyone is welcome. It’s going to be a great day!” Lolonda says the day is about family, along with celebrating the life of her daughter.

There will also be a food truck on site, 50/50 draw, and prizes.

Admission is $5 a person or $10 a family, with separate donations being accepted for the Lakeland Humane Society. For more information, RSVP to the event on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/1619394394821065/
