The City of Cold Lake has received $240,000 in funding (to be used over three years) to develop an All-Hazards Incident Management Team (AHIMT).
This money will allow the City of Cold Lake to hire people to provide training and lead a team into situations that involve natural disasters and emergencies.
The city will partner with other stakeholders in the Northeast Region to provide a more integrated approach to emergency response.
During the March 27, 2018 Regular City of Cold Council Meeting, the City of Cold Lake Council authorized the city to enter into an conditional grant agreement with the Province of Alberta for the 2018 to 2020/2021 project.
Cold Lake City Councillor Bob Buckle stated, “This is will a real asset for the community.”
