On Tuesday, April 3, 2018 , Alberta Health Services will be offering the first of four educational workshops in Cold Lake in their Mental Wellness Series. The series begins with Managing Difficult Emotions, and continues with workshops on anxiety, depression, and maintaining healthy relationships.
Reggie Jackson, Area Manager for Addictions and Mental Health, emphasizes the workshops (which run from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM) are free and open to anyone.
“People can come to listen to the discussions or to ask questions. These workshops are not just for people struggling, but for support people and professional who want to know more about the services and supports we have in the community.”
Although people who attend do not have to speak or share with the group (which is usually ten to twelve people in size), Jackson encourages people to talk because he believes, “the biggest teachers are people who participate.”
He welcomes those who have taken the workshop before to come back for a refresher. After each workshop, there will be opportunities for people to provide feedback to the facilitators so they can shape new or existing workshops.
To register for the free workshops, call (780) 594-7556. The workshops will take place in the boardroom at Addictions Services Cold Lake (located close to the Grand Square Cinema).
