St. Paul RCMP arrest male on warrant; drugs and weapon seized from residence

On March 17, 2018 while conducting an investigation at a business in St. Paul, members located an adult male, 24-year-old Brandon Cardinal who was wanted on an outstanding drug warrant from Edmonton Police Service. He was arrested and during a search police found individually packaged quantities of cocaine and money on his person. He was taken into custody and charged with several offences.
On March 18, 2018, police executed a search warrant at a residence in St. Paul and one additional person was charged. Police seized cocaine (55g), marihuana (83g), cannabis oil, psilocybin (magic mushrooms) (26g), prescription pills, money, drug paraphernalia, a firearm and ammunition.
Brandon Cardinal of St. Paul was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (x5)
- unsafe storage of a firearm
- unauthorized possession of a firearm
- possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
- obstructing a peace officer
- possession of property obtained by crime
- possession of a controlled substance
Brandon Cardinal remains in police custody and will be appearing in St. Paul Provincial Court on March 22, 2018.
Delores Cardinal, a 31-year-old from St. Paul was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
· possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (x3)
- possession of a controlled substance
- possession of property obtained by crime
She was released after a judicial hearing on a Recognizance and is set to appear in St. Paul Provincial Court on April 5, 2018.
As these matters are before the courts no further information is available.
