Blizzards have Successful Showing at the Junior Olympics
On March 3rd and 4th, nearly 400 alpine ski racers ages 4 to 11 converged at Marmot Basin to take part in the Jasper Junior Olympics. Cold Lake’s Blizzards Apline Ski Racing Club had 20 racers, including 4 Dream Team racers ages four and five.
The Dream Team racers represent their club at this North Zone, Alberta Alpine sanctioned race that included clubs from Red Deer, Edmonton, Jasper, Fort McMurray and Grand Prairie.
The results of Saturdays Giant Slalom race included:
- A 7th place finish for Reighynn Pawlowski, who races in the 8-year-old female category.
- An 8thplace finish for Tyler Holthe, who races in the 6-year-old male category.
- A 7thplace finish for Cruz Harris, who races in the 9-year-old male category.
- A 9thplace finish for Everett Pawlowski, who races in the 10-year-old male category.
A first place finish for the Kinosoo Blizzards in Sunday’s dual giant slalom team competition was a highlight of the weekend!
The Blizzards will compete in a few Nancy Greene series races before the end of the season.
