ARRESTED: Elk Point RCMP – Arrest Warrants Issued For Two Men

Both Andy George Lacombe (22) and Austin Don Crevier (21) of Fishing Lake have been remanded into custody after bail hearings. They will be appearing in St. Paul Provincial Court on March. 8, 2018 via CCTV.

Andy George Lacombe has eight additional Criminal Code charges including weapons and firearms offences and has conditions not to be in the Fishing Lake Metis Settlement or near its boundaries.

Austin Don Crevier has four additional Criminal Code charges including weapons and firearms offences.

“The arrest of these two individuals halted further potential harm to community members and has brought 31 charges before the courts,” says Sergeant Terry Hyggen, Elk Point RCMP Detachment Commander. “We will continue to focus our efforts on repeat offenders in keeping with our crime reduction strategies.”

As this matter is now before the courts no further updates will be provided.

Update

Andy Lacombe and Austin Crevier, the two men wanted in connections with firearms offences in Fishing Lake, are now in police custody.

Overnight, RCMP members from Elk Point, Bonnyville, and St. Paul detachments along with the Eastern Alberta Crime Reduction Unit, Police Dog Services and Emergency Response Team arrested both men on their outstanding warrants. The investigation is ongoing and an update will be provided following bail hearings for both accused. There is no further risk to the community at this time.

Background

RCMP from Elk Point Detachment are asking for the public’s assistance to locate two men wanted in connection with recent firearms offences in the Fishing Lake area.

On February 23, at approximately 1230 pm., Elk Point RCMP responded to a firearms complaint in Fishing Lake. The caller reported narrowly avoiding a collision with another vehicle and that an occupant of the vehicle then pointed a firearm at the caller before driving away.

On February 28 at approximately 9:45 pm, Elk Point RCMP received a report of gunshots being fired from a vehicle at home in Fishing Lake. After the shots were fired, the vehicle was reported to have fled at a high rate of speed.

Elk Point RCMP have conducted investigations into both of these incidents and have obtained arrest warrants for two men in relation to these crimes.

Austin Don Crevier (21) of Fishing Lake has been charged with 7 offences including Possession of a Firearm while Prohibited, Unauthorized Possession of a Restricted Weapon and Careless use of a Firearm.

Andy George Lacombe (22) of Fishing Lake has been charged with 12 offences including Possession of a Firearm while Prohibited, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Careless use of a Firearm and Unauthorized Possession of a Restricted Weapon.

Arrest warrants have been issued for both Andy Lacombe and Austin Crevier. Both men are considered armed and dangerous and are known to frequent both Fishing Lake and Frog Lake.
