Nominations Wanted for the Cold Lake Volunteer Awards

Cold Lake is celebrating all the amazing people that help make the city such a wonderful place to live, with the 2018 Volunteer Awards. Leanne Draper, with the Cold Lake FCSS, says the awards are a great way to honour someone who gives their time to an organization.

“There are so many people that volunteer in Cold Lake, we want to recognize them and shine a spotlight on all that they do,” Leanne says the nominations are open and urges the public to get involved an nominate someone. There are various categories that volunteers can be nominated under:

Rising Star – For a youth who is proving to be an exceptional volunteer.

Newbie of the Year – Someone new to volunteering who is already making an impact on the organization & the community.

Coach of the Year – For all sports and all age categories. Not just minor sports, can be an adult sports coach. People are encouraged to think outside of the “typical sports” and nominate someone new.

Environment Protector – Someone with a green thumb who loves all the furrbabies. This person works to protect our environment and make the world a better place to live.

Behind the Scenes – Someone who tends to go unnoticed and works behind the scenes.

Community Impact – Nominate someone who has made a lasting impact on the community, as a whole.

Lifetime Achievement – This is for someone who has been volunteering in the community for 25+ years.

 

Nominations forms may be picked up at Cold Lake and District FCSS or found online at www.coldlake.com/FCSS/VolunteerServices. Deadline for nominations is March 1, 2018. Each nominee will receive a complimentary ticket for him/her and a guest to the annual awards banquet, held on April 15th.
