Burn Survivor Falardeau, Guest Speaker at the 4 Wing MFRCS Women’s Conference

An accident when she was two caused Kelly Falardeau to suffer severe burns on 75% of her body. She had to undergo years of painful surgeries to treat the burns and she was teased mercilessly as a kid. She struggled to find her self-esteem amongst all the staring, teasing and whispering.

Kelly believes that there is a lot of internal work to be done when developing self-esteem. It’s about learning how to stop calling yourself names, loving the little parts of you, rejecting other people’s opinions of you, learning how to laugh at yourself, having empowering people in your life, realizing that even the weeds are beautiful, and ultimately celebrating your little successes. These are a few of the many ways you can develop a healthy self-esteem and love yourself.

The problem with today’s society is that we don’t believe we’re pretty enough, successful enough or smart enough and it sets up a standard of perfection that we can’t achieve. As a result women suffer major issues with their physical bodies and emotional intelligence. Kelly is on a mission to share her message with women around the world that they are ‘more than enough’ and if the once ugly scar-faced girl can do it and become successful, then so can they.

We are thrilled  to welcome Kelly Falardeau as our guest speaker at the 4 Wing MFRCS Women’s Conference on March 3rd, 2018. She will share her secrets about loving yourself without changing your body and realizing that “you are more than enough”!

At the event, attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in three different workshops on a range of topics including personal growth, health & wellness, crafting, etc.

Registration is coming soon! For more details about the event, contact Cathy Gauthier, Family Education Coordinator at 780-594-6006, ext. 230 or by e-mail at Cathy.Gauthier@forces.gc.ca.
