St. Paul RCMP on scene of collision Highway 28
UPDATE 3
The RCMP investigation determined that at approximately 1 p.m. on January 26, 2018, a stolen west bound pickup truck veered into the oncoming lane, side swiping an east bound car and then colliding with an east bound semi. The drivers and sole occupants of the three vehicles were transported to hospital with minor injuries, treated and released. Charges are pending against the driver of the stolen pickup truck, a 35 year old man from Goodfish Lake. Alcohol has been determined to be a factor in the collision.
UPDATE 2
Both lanes of Highway 28 near Ashmont are open to normal traffic flow and all vehicles have been removed from the accident scene. There continues to be limited visibility in the area.
UPDATE
One lane of Highway 28 between Highway 36 and Range Road 110A east of Ashmont is now alternating between both lanes of traffic. Once the highway is back to normal traffic flow a followup release will be disseminated.
Police would like to advise motorists in the area to slow down as there is limited visibility and snow continues to fall heavily in the area.
BACKGROUND
St. Paul RCMP are currently on scene of a 3 vehicle collision on Highway 28 between Highway 36 and Range Road 110A east of Ashmont.
Traffic is currently being diverted as delays of several hours are expected.
Police would like to advise motorists in the area to slow down as there is limited visibility and snow continues to fall heavily in the area.
