Theft of Mailboxes in the Lakeland area
RCMP in St. Paul, Elk Point and Bonnyville are reporting that there have been thefts and mischief to mailboxes in their area over the last two weeks.
On January 02, 2018 St Paul RCMP were notified that several mailboxes in St Brides had been broken into. The four suspects were seen on camera coming out of a White or Silver coloured Chrysler 300 with tinted windows at approximately 2:30 in the morning. The suspects broke into 58 mailboxes by prying them open.
The St Paul RCMP is seek the assistance of the public in regards to this incident. An incident of the same nature occurred in Heinsburg, a small community East of Elk Point where a suspect(s) tried to break into several mail boxes.
On December 30th, Bonnyville RCMP responded to the theft of mailboxes on 36th Street and on 42nd Street in Bonnyville. RCMP are also reporting theft of mailboxes near the Willow Prairie Hall in LaCorey on January 2nd. Although the crimes in Bonnyville have not been definitely linked to one another, RCMP say there is a good probability considering the time of the thefts and locations.
