Blizzards send four to Alberta Winter Games
The Cold Lake Blizzards ski team, which trains out of Kinosoo Ridge Snow Resort, sent 5 athletes to compete at The Rabbit Hill Open on December 16 and 17 against some of the strongest athletes in both the regional and provincial series.
This was the first race of the season, reports Andrea Woods, with the club, “it secured four spots on the Zone 7 team at The Alberta Winter Games this February 2018.”
Chiara Harris (13), Anick Levesque (13), Ben Sylvestre (12) and Nathan Sylvestre (13) will represent Zone 7 Along with six Fort McMurray athletes (5 boys and 5 girls in total). Nathan Sylvestre was awarded 2 bronze medals at the event.
The Alberta Winter Games will be held in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (Fort McMurray) from February 16-19, 2018.
