Cold Lake and Bonnyville RCMP scoop 19 in warrant roundup

From Dec. 14-17, 2017, Cold Lake RCMP, Bonnyville RCMP, Bonnyville General Investigative Section (GIS), with assistance from Lloydminster RCMP and St. Paul RCMP Traffic Services, attended over 100 locations and conducted multiple traffic stops as part of a crime reduction initiative pursuing wanted persons in the Cold Lake and Bonnyville areas.

As a result, 19 individuals were arrested and 40 outstanding warrants including 52 charges are now before the courts. An additional 12 charges were laid and police seized methamphetamine and marijuana while conducting arrests.

“Crime reduction initiatives are being undertaken targeting known offender’s,” says Corporal Ronald Bumbry, East Alberta Media Relations Officer. “Over the four-day period we were able to arrest several people who continued to commit crimes while being wanted by police.”

The executed warrants also covered areas outside of Bonnyville and Cold Lake which included: Vegreville, Strathcona County, High Level, Vermilion and Edmonton.

The accused have various Provincial Court dates in multiple jurisdictions.
