Man robbed with machete, after accepting a ride
During the afternoon, on November 4th, Cold Lake RCMP received a call from an individual who had been robbed. “Our investigation determined that the he had got into a vehicle for a ride and ended up being robbed by three suspects; one of them produced a machete and his bag was stolen,” S/Sgt. Jeremie Landry, of the Cold Lake Detachment, explains the man was assaulted in the course of the robbery.
“There ended up being a scuffle, in the parking lot of Sports Chek, and the victim fell out of the vehicle,” during the assault, the victim was punched and kicked, confirms S/Sgt. Landry. RCMP arrested and charged three males following the incident.
RCMP received a call at 4:20pm, from the victim, who was able to provide a licence plate number, as well as, the identity of some of the accused, who were known to him.
18 year old Isaiah Csurdi, from Cold Lake has been charged with:
- Robbery with an offensive weapon
- Assault with a weapon
Csurdi appeared before a Justice of the Peace and was released with a $1500 no cash recognizance, to attend court, in Cold Lake, on November 22nd at 10:00 am.
18 year old Dylan Gillies, from Cold Lake has been charged with:
- Robbery
- Assault with a weapon
- Assault
Gillies has appeared before a Justice of the Peace and was released on $3,000 no cash recognizance, with conditions. Gillies is to appear in a Cold Lake Provincial Court on November 22nd, at 10:00 am.
19 year old Ryan Gillies, from Cold Lake has been charged with:
- Robbery
- Assault with a weapon
- Assault
Gillies has appeared before a Justice of the Peace and was released on $3,000 no cash recognizance. He is scheuled to appear in Cold Lake Provincial Court on November 22nd, at 10:00 am.
