Two males arrested after police catch them with stolen vehicle

On October 17th, at approximately 1:30 pm, Cold Lake RCMP were on patrol on Township Road 602, when a suspicious vehicle, without a licence plate, was observed by an officer. The officer observed two males that were attempting to put gas from a jerry can to a vehicle. RCMP say the males appeared to be alarmed when the police arrived.

An inquiry into the vehicle’s VIN came back to be reported stolen. The two males were arrested at the scene.

A 23 year old male, from Saddle Lake, has charged pending of possession of stolen property over $5,000 with a court date of December 13th at 10:00 am. The name of the accused was not released as charges had yet to be sworn at the time of this publication.

52 year old, Leonard McGilles, of Bonnyville, has been charged with possession of property obtain by crime over $5,000 and failing to comply with a probation order. McGilles was given a $500 cash bail by a Justice of the Peace with a court date of October 25th at 10:00 am. It has not been confirmed whether or not McGilles has made bail.
