Lakeland Co-op donates $1,000.00 to 2nd Chance Trail Ride

Lakeland Co-op put out the call and the community answered.

As part of Fuel Good Day on Sept. 19^th, 10 cents from every litre of fuel purchased at Lakeland Co-op Gas Bar was donated to 2^nd Chance Trail Ride.

At the end of the day, Lakeland Co-op members and customers helped raise $1,000.00 for the organization that Our organization and event’s purpose is to encourage organ and tissue donations, give thanks to those who have donated and support individuals going the transplant journeyencourages organ and tissue donations, gives thanks to those who have donated, and supports individuals going through the transplant journey.

“Lakeland Co-op is committed to serving the community and giving back, not just on this day but throughout the year,” said Mario Bouvier, General Manager of Lakeland Co-op. “Fuel Good Day is one of many ways we fuel our communities, whether it’s by sharing profits with our members or supporting local organizations that are doing important work right here in our own backyard.”

In the last five years, Lakeland Co-op returned $7.8 million to its members in cash back and equity payments and contributed annually to local organizations and causes, including “2^nd Chance Trail Ride”.

Fuel Good Day was celebrated at more than 380 Co-op Gas Bars throughout British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and northwest Ontario, each supporting a selected local charitable or non-profit organization or initiative. The combined result from across Western Canada will be released later in October.
