Cold Lake RCMP Recover boats stolen in Calmar

During the afternoon of September 23, 2017, Cold Lake RCMP recovered 3 of 4 boats stolen from Wizard Lake Marine during the night of September 13, 2017.

 

The three boats, with trailers, valued at approximately $600,000.00 were located at a rural property near Cold Lake.  During the search of the property, an additional $250,000.00 worth of stolen property was recovered by Cold Lake RCMP.

 

Two adult males are in custody with charges pending. The investigation is continuing by Cold Lake and Leduc RCMP detachments and further updates will be provided when they are available.

 

One of the boats has not been recovered and RCMP continue to seek assistance in locating that boat.  A photo of the boat is attached.  It is believed to have been sold in the Edmonton area.

Background

Leduc RCMP are investigating the theft of four boats and trailers worth a total estimated value of $800,000.

On September 13, 2017 Leduc RCMP responded to a complaint of a break and enter at a boat dealership.  It occurred sometime in the early morning, after 01:00 a.m.  The boats are all 23’ Nautique Super Air G23, and each boat and trailer combination is worth approximately $200,000.

Investigation thus far indicates that four pick-ups were used and they left the dealership eastbound on Highway 39.   A description of the suspects is not currently available.

These boats are very recognizable and Leduc RCMP are seeking public assistance in locating these boats and identifying the culprits involved.
