On August 1st, 2017, the Bonnyville Search and Rescue (SAR) was called out at approximately 1:00 am by the Bonnyville RCMP to the Beaver river to help locate a missing adult male who was overdue from floating from Highway 55 to Highway 41.
According to a Facebook post by the Bonnyville SAR, the man was located after nearly 12 hours.
“After nearly 12 hrs since the male left for his trip, he was finally located by a good Samaritan.
Bonnyville SAR would like to remind everyone that the Beaver river is running high and fast. Also, there is no cell service along most of the river. Please be safe around all bodies of water.
Special thank you to the Bonnyville RCMP, Lakeland Victim Services, and our many volunteers.”
