On July 9th, at 10:30 pm, Cold Lake RCMP received a 911 call of a theft of a vehicle. The male caller was reporting that his friend took his vehicle from his driveway and that the vehicle wasn’t registered or insured.

At almost the same time, the Cold Lake City Peace Officers called the RCMP Detachment to assist with a vehicle they had pulled over. The Peace Officers believed the driver to be impaired. RCMP attended and noted that the vehicle was the same vehicle that has just been reported stolen. They arrested a 26 year old female from Makwa Sahgaiechcen First Nations, in Saskatchewan.

The female provided breath samples over the legal limit and has been charged with operating a vehicle over the legal limit, operating a motor vehicle while disqualified, theft of a car and theft under $5,000. The suspect was released on an undertaking to attend court.
