At a joint Council meeting held July 4, The Municipal District of Bonnyville and
the Town of Bonnyville passed bylaws for the Bonnyville Intermunicipal Development Plan
(IDP).
The IDP was prepared for the M.D. and the Town by Stantec Consulting. Work on the
IDP began last September.
The joint Council meeting was started with a Public Hearing for affected residents to
speak for or against the plan. Council members answered questions and addressed concerns
from the small gathering of residents before giving the bylaws second and third reading.
The Intermunicipal Development Plan will help guide the municipalities when dealing
with building, development and zoning on lands that share a border.
