Suspect Sought After Pedestrians Struck and Rollover Collision

Cold Lake RCMP have arrested and charged 27 year old Matthew Leo Osmachenko of Taber, Alberta, with the following charges:

Aggravated Assault x 2.

Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle.

Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle x 2.

Drive While Disqualified.
-
Fail to Remain at the Scene of a Collision x 2.
-
Mischief Under $5000.00.
-
Mischief Over $5000.00.
Matthew Osmachenko has been remanded into custody and will next appear at Cold Lake Provincial Court on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at 10:00 a.m.
Police dogs deployed; suspect still at large
On June 19, 2017, at 3:15 a.m. Cold Lake RCMP were dispatched to 16 Avenue, Cold Lake south for a single vehicle rollover collision involving a power pole. RCMP determined that moments prior to the collision, the same vehicle involved in the collision had also struck two pedestrians, one of which was seriously injured and remains in hospital. Following the collision, the male suspect who is known to police ran from the scene. Cold Lake RCMP were assisted in this investigation by St. Paul Police Dog Services. The suspect remains at large, RCMP continues to investigate and charges are pending.
