Hrynyk Wins Provincial Award
Northern Lights Public Schools Board Chair Arlene Hrynyk recognized.
Public School Boards’ Association of Alberta President, Arlene Hrynyk, has been selected to receive the Public School Boards’ Association of Alberta Advancing Association Business and Initiatives Award. Arlene was nominated by the Prairie Rose School Division.
Arlene has been an advocate for Alberta’s students for many years and through many different roles. Her journey started as a trustee for the Northern Lights Public Schools then soon after she was nominated to lead her Board as Chair. After holding the role of Alberta School Boards’ Association of Alberta Zone 2/3 Chair, Arlene was elected to her current role as the Public School Boards’ Association of Alberta (PSBAA) President where she is currently serving in her fourth and final year as President.
“Arlene’s passion and fact-based approach has earned her the respect of our Minister of Education and has placed our Association in a positive light,” says her fellow PSBAA Executive Committee Member. “You will often hear her say, ‘It is their work plan’ and simply sees herself as a messenger. Every Association should be so fortunate to have a messenger of her caliber.”
“We thank you so very much for your passion, your energy, your love of children, your leadership and your unrelenting commitment to Public Education,” says PSBAA Second Vice-President, Cathy Hogg.
Arlene’s contribution to Public Education was recognized in Red Deer at the Public School Boards’ Association of Alberta’s Spring General Assembly on Saturday, June 3rd, 2017.
