Expect RCMP patrols on Cold Lake this summer.

The Cold Lake RCMP have added a new patrol boat to its force and you can expect to see it on the waters this summer. “We’ll be ramping up patrols on the lake, not that the season is upon us,” confirms S/Sgt for the Cold Lake Detachment, Jeremie Landry.

The Cold Lake Detachment has jurisdiction of the entire body of water, including the portion that goes into Saskatchewan, confirms Landry, “being a Federal police force, we have jurisdiction on both sides.”

The public is reminded that impaired operation of a motor vehicle includes any and all motor vehicles; which includes boats, skidoos and other motorized vessels.
