Cold Lake Detachment participates in National Checkstop initiative.
On Saturday, May 20th members of the Cold Lake RCMP Detachment participated in a National Impaired Driving Day by dedicating their night shifts to conduct three checkstops in the city, over three hours.
“We checked a total of 520 vehicles,” S/Sgt Jeremie Landry reports that two drivers were charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and three drivers were charged with roadside suspensions. Another driver was charged with a roadside suspension longer than 30 days for alcohol.
Landry considers the initiative a successful operation.
