Ammonia leak at Energy Centre causes classes to be cancelled.

Update: 

Cold Lake High School will remain closed on Tuesday, June 6th, 2017. A message from Northern Lights Public School indicated that air quality tests needed to be performed before the school could re-open.

In a statement release by the division, NLPS thanked everyone for their continued patience and corporation.

Anyone with questions or concerns is asked to contact the division at 780-826-3145.

 

Background:

Northern Lights Public Schools is cancelling classes Monday, June 5th at the Cold Lake High School, after an ammonia leak was discovered at the Energy Centre.

No word yet from the City of Cold on whether the entire facility has been closed and if so, for how long.

Northern Lights Public Schools will keep the public, facility, students and parents updated on when classes will resume at the high school.
