Detachment reminds the public to call in suspicious activity.

The Cold Lake RCMP members have been active this past week with checkstops, patrols and 187 calls to service. The Detachment is preparing for the summer with plans to remain proactive and visible in the community & surrounding areas.

The RCMP would like to remind the public to continue to call in suspected impaired drivers. Reports help keep the community safe. Last week there were three roadside suspensions due to impaired driving; as well as one call-in driving complaint that resulted in an arrest. RCMP responded to a driving complaint that resulted in an arrest for dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, as well as drug related offenses. The police believe the driver was impaired by drugs.

One other incident of note this past week, while on patrols RCMP noticed smoke coming from near a school. Members responded quickly and were able to put out a small brush fire; with no damages or injuries. The brush fire appeared to be set deliberately. If you have any information regarding the fire contact the RCMP Detachment 780-594-3302.
