Crews are working on clearing high risk driveways; which includes elders, first.

The main waterline is down and is being repaired, water trucks will resume when we have water and as driveways get cleared. Members are asked to conserve water and call in if you are out of water.
If you have limited or are running out of bottled water please call in so crews can work on exchanging for fresh water to be dropped off.
If you have been without food or have no way to cook for yourself, please call in, so something to eat could be delivered.
Please continue to report on any change of situation as we have no current estimation of restoration of power due to snow damaging many lines and making it harder for work crews to get in and out of areas.
Health Centre staff have been checking in on clients, and have been making thier rounds.
Crews are working on places that may discount meals to members and currently discounted rooms are available at Comfort Inn and Best Western in Bonnyville.

Membership is warned to expect power outage through the night Friday.

Kehewin Cree Nation has activated its Emergency Response Team to help deal with power outage that is effecting the Nation.

A message on Kehewin Voices  Facebook page advises members to prepare to go through the night without power.

If you know of anyone in any medical emergency, in need of water to last through out the night, need medicine, or to get out to somewhere warm and safe. Please call 780-545-3696.

According to the post, members are asking neighbours to check in on each other; especially those who know their neighbours are vulnerable. “We are asking for all those to report in that do not have a way out to stay with someone else or that need shelter, in the event that power does remain out through the night. Please check on each house that you know that is out of power, for the elderly, sick, small children and pregnant.”

The Health Centre will be checking in on their clients.
“Also if you know of any damaged lines in your area, also check in. Keep in mind, its been long enough that cell phones have died, and some house phones rely on power. So please check on you neighbours and check in.”

The grader and backhoe remain stuck as public works continues to work on getting them unstuck. Once they are unstuck, they will continue to work to remove snow and clear roads and driveways.
