RCMP Investigate Break-in at Mach 1

Bike valued at $1,000 stolen.

The Cold Lake RCMP are investigating a break-in that occurred at Mach 1 on April 6th. According to surveillance video a male suspect broke the front door of the store to gain access to the store at 1:15 am.

The suspect tore through the store, causing damage to displays. He attempted to punch and kick the open a display cabinet full of valuable watches. When unsuccessful in his attempt, the suspect made off with a fluorescent green “Scott” bike, valued at $1,000 and a grey duffle bag, valued at $200.

Owner of Mach 1, Ed Machtmes, took to social media, releasing footage of the break-in, as well as still images. Machtmes wrote, “fortunately, [the bike] is the only one like it in our market” and urges the public to keep a watchful eye.
